Mitigating Nursing Related Risks
WEBINAR: MITIGATING NURSING RELATED RISKS.
Thursday, July 25, 12:00 pm | VIRTUAL | 1 CE Credit Available
Nurses are the heart and soul of the healthcare industry and have been rated as the most trusted professionals in the world for 18 years, however, the harsh reality is that the field of nursing is in crisis.
Today, nursing care is complicated by demographic shifts, burnout, and stress, disrupted education and training, bureaucratic and management challenges, tight budgets, and cultural shifts, including an increase in travel nurses and temporary assignments.
An analysis of 5 years of closed claims was conducted, and the data revealed the top areas of vulnerability. This data is offered as “signal intelligence” or, signals from the past about where vulnerabilities existed and may still be at play. Data-driven risk reduction strategies are offered, and special attention paid to travel nurse risks, as they are a commonly utilized approach to respond to the nursing crisis and fill in nursing staff gaps.
Key Objectives from this session:
- Develop familiarity with nursing risks through the lens of malpractice claims
- Identify risk reduction strategies in the top areas of vulnerability gleaned from the data analysis
- Understand the unique risks and strategies relative to the use of travel nurses
